Odile Marchetti
Host and subtitler, Lyon
Odile writes subtitles for film and television and keeps a notebook of the lines that never fit on the screen.
Odile Marchetti subtitles films and series from Italian and Spanish into French and English. A subtitle leaves room for about seventeen characters a second, so most of her work is deciding what to leave out.
The Long Vowel started in her notebook of things she could never fit: the words that needed a sentence where the screen had room for one.
